Words cannot say what Mike meant to those who knew him, loved him and
respected him. If you knew Mike, you automatically loved and
respected him.
Mike was a true role model as a son, husband, father, brother, friend
and police officer. He was admired and looked up to by all who came in
contact with him.
He was honest, caring, hard working, generous and most of all - selfless.
Mike always put the needs of other before his own.
He gave his life so others could live.
The most selfless act anyone can achieve.
Growing up in New City, New York, Mike was surrounded by many friends
and family. It is not often that a person keeps his childhood
friends throughout their lifetime. Mike was one such person -
remaining close with all those he grew up with.
He attended Clarkstown South High School and The State University of
New York at Albany, graduating with a degree in Political Science.
Marrying Jennifer in 1992, they soon began to start their family. Meagan was born in 1993, Erin in 1996 and Patrick followed in
1997. Settling in Westwood in 1997, Mike could be seen playing
with his children every day. Nothing was more important than time
with his family. Jennifer and the kids were everything to
him. Mike had such a warm and friendly personality, even the
neighborhood children soon could be found in his company on most days -
and Mike loved it. The more the merrier. Be it at McKinley Park,
his own backyard or the street they lived on, if kids were around, Mike
would be right there with them.
Always wanting to help others, Mike became a Port Authority Police
Officer in 1994. Admired and respected by his fellow "brothers",
Mike answered the ultimate call on September 11, 2001. Anyone who
knew him would not have expected anything less.
Always know that you are loved deeply, truly missed and will never be forgotten.
